SAG Assistance

Set up an accountSupport vehicles will follow the riders throughout the day. If you are injured or unable to continue, please tap the top of your head to signal them to stop. The SAG vehicle will transport injured riders and those unable to continue riding to pit stops further along the route or to the finish.

Bicycle Repair

Repair technicians will be available along the route in vans and on bicycle to assist with minor repairs. If you need assistance on the road, please tap the top of your head and the support vehicles will stop. You should be sure to have your bike tuned a few weeks prior to the ride so you avoid major problems and breakdowns.

Medical Emergency

Any medial emergency should be immediately reported to Pedal for Medals staff and volunteers at pit stops or on the SAG vehicle. A licensed and fully supplied Emergency Medical Technician will accompany the ride in the support vehicle to assist with any medical emergencies. Our E.M.T. can use his/her professional discretion to evaluate riders' conditions along the route, and if it is felt a rider is at serious medial risk, the recommendation can be made to remove the rider from the ride. The E.M.T. will also review all medial forms prior to the start of the ride.

The SAG vehicle and pit stops will be equipped with cellular phones and radios. They will have detailed information on local hospitals, emergency facilities, police, and fire departments.

Weather

In the event of rain or inclement weather, the Pedal for Medals supervisors will use their judgment to determine if conditions are safe for the ride to continue. The Tour supervisors reserve the right to cancel the ride at any time if they feel that conditions are unsafe. Riders must comply with the instructions and directions of the Tour supervisors. When riding in rain or less than optimal conditions, riders must exercise caution.
